A drawing competition with schools in past years had generated some fantastic characters and ideas. Spaceport and their marketing team selected some worthy winners, and Leo, our creative director, took the winning drawings and developed them into graphic characters: Palores the AstroChough and her sidekick Lorell the Satellite.
We have been weaving these characters into various educational comms which will be rolled out to schools soon. Along with this work, our senior designer, Frazer, has built a set of engaging animations to bring the characters to life.
It has been a really fun project to work with the creativity of talented local kids, and very cool to see it begin to come to life.
Simon, our director:
“We have been working with the Spaceport team since the beginning. It’s been a privilege for us all to play our small part in shaping the brand and visual messaging.
You know a campaign is a winner when your six-year-old son is buzzing from seeing the characters come to life.
We are all excited to see how it all unfolds, and I know the schools are going to love the literature that Becky and Leo have been working on with Dave at Spaceport Cornwall. The comic strip is my favourite part...
Congratulations to the winners - the team and I wish you well in your creative paths."
